If and only if I had one criticism, it would be.....when the entertainment in the River Lounge is going on, I noticed a couple times people at the bar were talking louder than the entertainment. Off-ship experiences include sampling local beer and oysters in Astoria, Oregon; visiting Multnomah Falls or hiking Beacon Rock; and having a private vineyard visit and downtown wine walk in Walla Walla, Washington. I had been wanting to do this itinerary for several years. As this was our first experience we were so, so impressed we signed up for the Hudson River trip this Oct. Did not know there would be entertainment or games (brought home a visor from Bingo and robe from guess that tune). Further impressed with staff and Mark Wisner port talks and history.

We ended our trip with a New Orleans stay, which really added to all of the above. Since our interest in and knowledge of the Civil War is pretty intense, we would have liked more directly civil war battle talks and excursions, or better information on how to build our own excursions on the fly.
