Lovejoy was away from the city at this time, and the publishers declared that no further articles on slavery would be published during his absence. They said that when he returned, he would follow a more rigorous editorial policy. Lovejoy responded by expressing disagreement with the publishers' policy. As tensions over slavery escalated in St. Louis, Lovejoy would not back down from his convictions; he sensed that he would become a martyr for the cause.

After earning her certification as a Respiratory Therapist, she worked many years at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha. He met Kristie Lavonne Gilbert and they later married at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Boise, ID on August 27, 1983; they have loved each other through all that life has thrown at them for over 39 years of marriage. Dale is survived by his wife Sue, his brother Carl Edstrom, his brother Paul Edstrom, his daughter Erica Edstrom, his son Andy Edstrom and partner Matt Mayer, and his grandchildren Ella, Josiah and Eden Haugli.

In March of 1968 Peggy returned to Oklahoma where she married Donald Dean Struble in Enid, Oklahoma. Peggy and Don raised their family in Enid and she continued living there after Don’s death in 1990. She ran a day care in Enid where she touched the lives of many children.

He touched so many of us who had the pleasure of knowing him. After an unexpected hospitalization, Larry came home. Surrounded by his family he peacefully passed to be with his “Sweets” on December 3, 2022. He will be laid to rest next to Val at Dry Creek Cemetery. His brother Kim, and some of his nephews had the opportunity to join him during many hunting trips, creating memorable moments, and learning the art of hunting and dressing an animal. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, garage sales and cooking.

He played linebacker and was team captain his senior year for the Pirates football team. In Forestry from Colorado State University in 1967. Following graduation, he worked for the Forestry Department of South Dakota at Custer State Park. He then served in the US Army for 2 years, stationed in Seoul, Korea. In 1970, after his military service, Dale and Sue moved to Rapid City, SD. Both Erica and Andy were born there. The family moved to Sandpoint, Idaho in 1976, where Dale continued his employment as a forester with the Idaho Department of Lands.

Miller, age 85, of Manitowoc, passed away on Saturday, December 10th, 2022, in Manitowoc surrounded by his loving family. Gerald was born February 26th, 1937 in Two Rivers, to the late... Dad had 60 wonderful years with the love of his life, Kathryn. Shortly after her death, he relocated to Oregon to be near family. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 18, at 2 p.m.

In 1961 he graduated from Ripon Union High School where he was a stand-out athlete in Track and Field and Basketball. Richard then attended California State University, Chico where he studied engineering with a focus in plastics. In 1964 he met the love of his life Kathy Brokaw, marrying her on November 27, 1965 in Napa, California. Together they resided in Napa, San Francisco, Paradise, and Sonoma County, California before finally moving to Boise, ID in 1979 where they raised their two children.

Music touched Dale’s soul, as well as movies that told the stories of underdogs. One of his delights was spending time with his grandchildren. And he looked forward to their next visit from Norway. Mark was involved with several boards and groups giving back to his community.

Stanley Alfred Zirk, 89, of Manitowoc passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Rivers Bend Health Services. Stanley was born on July 17, 1933 in Monroe County to Paul and Glenn Zirk. He was a graduate of Kendall High School with the class of 1951. Stanley served his country in the United States Air Force.

Son Daniel, who worked for him all through school now became a full business partner. They enjoyed a precious and wonderful working relationship. The shop was not only a place for motors to be fixed but for hearts to be healed. Always a bargain hunter he enjoyed pursuing flea markets, also going to the desert in Yuma, and traveling with his brothers.
